ChatGPT Integration with InsideSpin

As a validation of AI-augmented article writing, InsideSpin has integrated ChatGPT to help flesh out unfinished articles at the moment they are requested. If you have been a past InsideSpin user, you may have noticed not all articles are fully fleshed out. While every article has a summary, only about half are fleshed out. Decisions about what to finish has been based on user interest over the years. With this POC, ChatGPT will use the InsideSpin article summary as the basis of the prompt, and return an expanded article adding insight from its underlying model. The instances are being stored for later analysis to choose one that best represents the intent of InsideSpin which the author can work with to finalize. This is a trial of an AI-augmented approach. AI for Product Teams

Over the last 30 years, the number of coders has grown dramatically to accommodate professional needs. Starting below a million in the US in the early 90s, it is estimated there are well over 30 million professional software engineers as we head into 2025. This count does not include the millions of web development tool users managing their own needs, relying on platforms like WordPress, HubSpot, and AWS to generate the templated code required.

The Rise of AI in Coding

For anyone who has used AI coding tools like CoPilot from GitHub, it is evident that AI excels at generating code. These tools are predominantly semantic language engines, which thrive in environments where coding languages are designed to be semantically unambiguous for successful execution. As a result, AI's ability to understand and generate ambiguous spoken languages like English is largely unnecessary in coding contexts.

However, code-generating tools are not without their flaws. They are susceptible to the concept of "garbage in, garbage out," as seen in AI chat tools like ChatGPT. This scenario emphasizes the necessity for AI-augmented skills among human operators to extract value from these tools while preserving job opportunities.

The Role of Product Managers in AI Integration

The essence of a Product Manager’s role is synthesizing streams of requirements (input) to generate outputs that engineering teams can use to build economically viable products, which the business can subsequently take to market for revenue generation. The more clear and consistent the output from a Product team, the more effectively coders and sales teams can fulfill identified needs.

While there is a risk of homogenization in thought and approach as we increasingly rely on AI—as was once observed with spreadsheets in finance—the advantages for Product teams include enhanced alignment, consistency, and completeness of analysis derived from AI-generated artifacts.

Challenges of Running a Technology Business

Running a technology business presents its unique challenges: rapidly changing market dynamics, talent retention, and a persistent need for innovation. Understanding these challenges is crucial for entrepreneurs aiming for success in a competitive landscape.
