ChatGPT Integration with InsideSpin

As a validation of AI-augmented article writing, InsideSpin has integrated ChatGPT to help flesh out unfinished articles at the moment they are requested. If you have been a past InsideSpin user, you may have noticed not all articles are fully fleshed out. While every article has a summary, only about half are fleshed out. Decisions about what to finish has been based on user interest over the years. With this POC, ChatGPT will use the InsideSpin article summary as the basis of the prompt, and return an expanded article adding insight from its underlying model. The instances are being stored for later analysis to choose one that best represents the intent of InsideSpin which the author can work with to finalize. This is a trial of an AI-augmented approach. Email founder@insidespin.com to share your views on this or ask questions about the implementation.

Consulting Services

An opportunity for additional revenues -- not really. An opportunity to generate more product sales, for sure. Unless you are in the services business, consulting around your product family tends to be a necessary evil to secure key customers, especially when just starting out. Over time you should see an ecosystem of service partners develop that are more than happy to provide the consulting services for your product family -- let it happen. If it does not happen, you should question the size of your market.

Few product companies successfully build large and meaningful service practices to go with it (of course, it may be something that your product needs and only you can do it, so it can happen). It's still a services business and it should generate revenue if you dabble in this area at all - nothing for free. Let's examine how to get started and some of the basic principles that should be set up to establish excellence in this area.

The Challenge of Consulting Services

Running a technology business often requires a delicate balance between product innovation and service provision. Many entrepreneurs enter the tech space with a focus on product development, but soon discover that consulting services are a necessary component of their business model. The challenge lies in recognizing when and how to leverage these services to enhance overall business performance.

Measuring Success

To assess the effectiveness of your consulting services, it's essential to establish key performance indicators (KPIs). These may include:

Conclusion

Consulting services can be a double-edged sword for technology businesses. While they may present initial challenges and require a shift in focus, they also offer significant opportunities for growth and customer retention. By understanding the necessity of consulting, building a strong service ecosystem, and adhering to best practices, entrepreneurs can turn these services into a valuable revenue stream. Remember, the key is not to shy away from consulting but to embrace it as an integral part of your business strategy.

Ultimately, the success of your technology business will rely on your ability to adapt and respond to the needs of your clients while effectively managing the consulting aspect of your operations.
