ChatGPT Integration with InsideSpin

As a validation of AI-augmented article writing, InsideSpin has integrated ChatGPT to help flesh out unfinished articles at the moment they are requested. If you have been a past InsideSpin user, you may have noticed not all articles are fully fleshed out. While every article has a summary, only about half are fleshed out. Decisions about what to finish has been based on user interest over the years. With this POC, ChatGPT will use the InsideSpin article summary as the basis of the prompt, and return an expanded article adding insight from its underlying model. The instances are being stored for later analysis to choose one that best represents the intent of InsideSpin which the author can work with to finalize. This is a trial of an AI-augmented approach. Email founder@insidespin.com to share your views on this or ask questions about the implementation.

Consulting Services

An opportunity for additional revenues -- not really. An opportunity to generate more product sales, for sure. Unless you are in the services business, consulting around your product family tends to be a necessary evil to secure key customers, especially when just starting out. Over time you should see an ecosystem of service partners develop that are more than happy to provide the consulting services for your product family -- let it happen. If it does not happen, you should question the size of your market.

Few product companies successfully build large and meaningful service practices to go with it (of course, it may be something that your product needs and only you can do it, so it can happen). It's still a services business and it should generate revenue if you dabble in this area at all - nothing for free. Let's examine how to get started and some of the basic principles that should be set up to establish excellence in this area.

The Nature of Consulting in Technology

In the technology sector, consulting services often serve as a bridge between product development and customer satisfaction. While many technology entrepreneurs view consulting as an ancillary function, it can play a critical role in enhancing product adoption and ensuring customer success.

Consulting can provide significant insights into customer needs and product functionality, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. Here are key considerations:

Establishing a Consulting Framework

To effectively integrate consulting services into your technology business, it is essential to establish a clear framework. This framework should encompass the following elements:

Building an Ecosystem of Partners

While establishing your own consulting services can be beneficial, it is equally important to foster relationships with external service partners. This ecosystem can augment your capabilities and allow you to focus on core competencies. Consider the following:

Measuring Success in Consulting

Success in consulting should be measured using both quantitative and qualitative metrics. Here are some key performance indicators (KPIs) to consider:

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

As you embark on your consulting journey, be mindful of common pitfalls that can hinder success:

Conclusion

Consulting services can be a double-edged sword for technology entrepreneurs. While they offer a path to enhance customer engagement and drive product adoption, they also require careful planning and execution. By establishing a robust consulting framework, building a network of service partners, and measuring success, entrepreneurs can navigate the challenges of consulting and leverage it for growth.

Ultimately, the key lies in understanding the unique dynamics of your market and being willing to adapt your consulting approach as needed.
